First and Only Integrated Education Centre Opens in Cambodia

Advance Learning Academy to provide Cambodians access to top quality education enrichment programs

PHNOM PENH, CAMBODIA, August, 23, 2014 - Advance Learning Academy (ALA), the first and only purpose-built integrated education centre in Cambodia, officially opens on Saturday, 23 August, 2014. Centrally-located at the recently launched Aeon Mall Phnom Penh, ALA fulfils the need for a place where children and adults can pursue education and learning interests. 

Advance Learning Academy introduces to Cambodia top-class facilities and equipment, qualified teachers and internationally-recognized education programs.

The centre, with a total gross area of 1,040 square metres, features a robotics lab, dance studio, multi-purpose hall, a taekwondo dojang, Study Aboard Resource Centre, music showroom, four music studios, and eight well-appointed classrooms.

Among the exciting programmes offered at ALA are:

  • Robotics Education 

A first in Cambodia, ALA is the Master Franchise holder in Cambodia for D’Growing Hands’ Robotics Programme. It is a fun way for children 5 years and above to learn how to make robots work. They use critical thinking skills, problem solving, mathematics, science and language in completing each task. Children also learn how to design, construct and programme robots and use them to perform certain tasks. Their understanding and skills are progressively guided from different levels starting with Basic Robotics, Junior Robotics Levels 1 and 2 all the way to Senior Robotics.

  • Ballet

ALA is a member affiliate to the Commonwealth Society of Teachers of Dancing (CSTD) and conducts internationally recognized grading examinations. Classes are taught by qualified and certified instructors. Its ballet programme covers Pre-ballet (4 to 5 years old) and Primary ballet (6 to 10 years old). ALA also offers Grading Scale (Grade 1 to 6; 11 – 16 years old) and The Major Classical Syllabus (16 years old up).

  • Zumba

Zumba is a total workout, combining all elements of fitness such as cardio, muscle conditioning, balance and flexibility. It also boosts energy and gives greater sense of well-being after every class. With certified instructors, ALA offers different Zumba styles including Zumba Fitness, Zumba Sentao, Zumba Steps and Zumba for Kids.

  • Pilates

Pilates improves awareness of posture and body movement while increasing muscle tone, strength, balance and endurance. Aside from being certified by BASI Pilates, ALA’s instructor is also trained in human anatomy and kinesiology.

  • Yoga

ALA offers a wide range of different yoga courses such as Hatha, Flow, Power Yoga and Yoga for Kids (minimum age - 5 years). With classes taught by a qualified and certified instructor, Yoga encompasses one’s mental, spiritual and physical aspect, rejuvenating the body, balancing life and providing inner discovery.

  • Caribbean Hips

ALA is the only dance studio in Phnom Penh which offers Caribbean Hips – a super fun adult program that offers the opportunity to discover and learn Caribbean dances such as Merengue, Salsa, Reggaeton, Soca, Bachata, Kompa, Guaguanco and Jaleo.

  • Mummy& Me

Mummy & Me facilitates the positive early childhood experiences that are vital in creating healthy, confident and well-adjusted children. Aimed at children aged from 18 months to 2 years, the 10 one-hour sessions, will strengthen the bond between mother and child through developmentally appropriate activities, such as exercise, music, storytelling and creative arts & crafts.

  • English Language Programme

ALA’s English programme is intended to provide adult learners with essential speaking, listening, reading and writing skills and encompasses all levels from Beginner to Intermediate. A diverse range of activities, such as games and projects, will also guide learners through the intricacies of grammar, pronunciation and expanding vocabulary. ALA’s trainers are qualified EFL and ESL teachers with experience in many different countries and a wide variety of training environments.

  • Taekwondo

ALA partners with Induk, a Singapore-based premier taekwondo school, in offering Taekwondo classes from toddlers to adults. Known for its emphasis on kicking and self-defense techniques, Taekwondo, physically helps develop strength, flexibility, and stamina as well as encourage positive mental attitude.

  • Music

ALA has partnered with SoundsKool, Cambodia’s music specialists, to offer the coolest music brands in pianos, guitars and accessories. It also houses a music school for piano and guitar lessons for beginners and intermediates.

As part of its grand opening, ALA offers 20% enrolment discount promotion from 23 and 24 August for all its programmes.
