NICOLE PHOON - Operations Manager

Experienced and active in the art and music scene in Singapore, Nicole is keen to contribute toexpanding the arts inCambodia. She is in-charge of the academy’s overall operations and is involved in bringing quality programmes to Advance Learning Academy.
 
Nicole has been based in Phnom Penh, Cambodia since July 2013. Her strengths are in project and event management, marketing, teaching, lesson planning, classroom management, and curriculum design and development. She was involved in the set up of Kent Ridge International School Singapore in Phnom Penh where she developed the curriculum and syllabus to suit the local market, gathered and trained her admin and teaching teams, and organised and planned the entire school process flow. Later, she was the Marketing & Events Manager of Himawari Hotel Apartments, a Singapore-owned 5-star establishment. There, she was in charge of the general marketing of the hotel and led all the events in Himawari Hotel Apartments.
 
 

MABEL TEJADA - Dance & Fitness Programme Manager

Mabel has a Master’s Degree in Education (with specialization in Speech Therapy) as well as a Diploma in Classical Ballet from the National Ballet Academy in Dominican Republic.
 
She was trained in the Vaganova, French and Cuban methods in “La Havana” and was under the tutelage of great masters of classical ballet of Latin America. In addition, she is a zumba instructor licensed since 2011 and member of ZIN network of Zumba company. Other fitness disciplines and dance styles are part of her curriculum; Yoga, Caribbean dance,Tango, Boot camp trainer, Steps, Aerobics , Spinning and others. 

She has a Diploma in performing arts and musical direction from the Institute of Fine Arts / Culture Center Santiago Dominican Republic. 
 
 

FREDERIC WOLSKA - Dance Teacher

Frédéric, has a MBA in pedagogy (French Language and one separate in Dance). Has been teaching and choreographing for over 15 years . His training is wide in classical ballet, graduated from The Centre du Marais under the tutelageof MARIE-AGNES GILLOT who is part of the   Paris Opera Ballet wich is today considered to be one of the world's finest companies. His repertoire is very extensive, ranging from the major romantic and classical ballets to creations by contemporary choreographers. 
Has been part of great classic of Ballet like : Cinderella, Romeo and Julliet, Coopelia, Swan Lake, Don Quijote, Le Sacre du Printemps , The Nutcracker, The beauty and the Beast , not only dancing also choreographing  some of their acts. A Diploma in musical theater and Zumba instructor are also part of his Curriculum .

MERLY LAPERME - Taekwondo Programme Manager

A taekwondo 4th Dan blackbelt certified instructor, Philippine-born Merly has many years of coaching and refereeing experiences in Singapore, where she was formerly based.

 
Merly has spent numerous occasions training in Korea as part of her professional development in the sport.
 
Because of her outstanding contribution to the promotion and development of taekwondo in Singapore, Merly received a Special Recognition Award from the Singapore Taekwondo Federation in 2008.
 
Merly’s unique ability to teach her taekwondo skills in a very engaging manner has made her well-loved by her students. Her vast experience in sparring will certainly add quality to taekwondo instructions at ALA.
